How to Join the Metaverse
So first let’s join a project. There are now many Metaverse projects but we will look at one of the most venerable and innovative: Decentraland. To step into this world you will need to go to:
DECENTRALAND
- First, you will be given the option to download or play in the browser.
- Once you have done one of these you will create your avatar, and give an email if you want to,
- then you need to agree to the terms and conditions of service.
- Once you have done these things you will be taken to Decentraland’s landing page, where I was played some soothing music,,zzzz
What can I do in the Metaverse?
In Decentraland you can do a number of things. But first the landing page, (accompanied by that soothing music) takes you through the controls that you will need to navigate your way in your new world. The instructions are clear and simple.
Once inside you can maneuver around Decentraland and interact with other characters, create your own buildings and generally exist in a completely separate reality. Of course, it is not quite up to the real world but it is fun to play around with. At a later stage, if you are enjoying your ‘other world existence’ you might like to spend some real world Ethereum and buy yourself a little piece of the Metaverse all for yourself!

How Much Does It Cost to Be Part of the Metaverse?
Being a part of the Metaverse can be basically free apart from your internet connection and electricity. Or it can be very expensive. It all depends what you wish to do there. If you just want to be a casual visitor you can get away with spending virtually nothing. However, as with many strategy games or empire building activities, you can quickly become involved and wish to acquire extra land, abilities or character traits. If you do so you will, in all likelihood be spending quite some cash, or rather cryptocurrency, to do so.
You can find all the current prices for wearables, collectables and land in the Decentraland Marketplace. Depending on market conditions, the prices may fluctuate drastically.
